On Giving Tuesday, December 1, 2026, join Asian American Dream at La Đồng for our 3rd Annual Table of Dreams. Expect an unforgettable evening of authentic Vietnamese cuisine, culture, and community, all in support of first-generation and low-income AAPI undergraduates in New York.

The gap is real.

AAPI communities are often seen as one success story, but the numbers tell a different one. The top 10% of AAPI earners make 11 times what the bottom 10% earn, the widest income gap of any racial group in the country. Many of our students sit on the other side of that gap, as the first in their families to navigate college and the professional world. They have the talent and the drive, but not the social capital: the networks, introductions, and insider knowledge that quietly open doors for their peers.

AAD exists to level the playing field.

That’s where our mentors come in. Many grew up without the guidance they needed, and through AAD they become the mentor they wish they’d had in college. Our students gain that mentor now, along with a community they can trust and leadership that reflects who they are and makes sure they are heard.

Our impact since 2021

Together, we have empowered more than 1,000 students. Each year, we pair 250 mentees from across the New York metropolitan area with 250 mentors from AAPI employee resource groups at companies like McKinsey, Google, and Bank of America. Through the Kin Mentorship Program, the Thriving AANHPI Leadership Accelerator, and the AAPI Creator Incubator, our students build the relationships, skills, and confidence to dream and achieve fearlessly, on their own terms.

Last year, 80 guests filled the room and helped us raise $30,476. This year, we’re setting out to go further, and we want you at the table.
